POCAHONTAS - Newell-Fonda saw Pocahontas Area peck away at a 42-28 halftime deficit throughout the second half, but the Mustangs were able to hold on for their seventh win of the year, escaping with a 65-63 win Friday.
Brady Bohe knocked down 7-of-12 from the field and 6-of-9 at the line for a team high 21 points. Dalton Anderson added 15 points and four rebounds, Andrew Temple had nine points and 10 rebounds, Brady Dicks had five points and four steals, Zak Sievers scored five, and Dillon Anderson scored four.
The Mustangs were 24-of-53 from the floor, 3-of-11 from three and 14-of-25 at the line.
Aaron Youngberg led Pocahontas Area (6-3) with 20 points, four assists and five steals.
The win is the seventh straight for Newell-Fonda (7-2). They host Sioux Central tonight, Estherville-Lincoln Central Thursday and Prairie Valley Friday.
