The Natural Resources Conservation Service would like to welcome Anita Patrick to their field office staff. Anita will be working as the Mississippi River Basin Initiative (MRBI) project coordinator in both the Storm Lake and Pocahontas field offices. Anita graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. degree in Environmental Resource Management with emphasis on soil and water. She served five years as an officer in the Army and then dedicated her time to raising five children with her husband Jim. The Patrick family has lived in Storm Lake almost three years, and Anita is excited about working with local farm producers and helping to encourage use of conservation practices as a benefit to water quality and increased production potential.

Farmers in the North Raccoon River and Cedar Creek watersheds have the opportunity to receive higher payment rates on conservation practices and systems that avoid, control and trap nutrient runoff; improve wildlife habitat; and maintain agricultural productivity. Please contact Anita at the BV Soil & Water Conservation District office at 1617 North Lake Avenue, Storm Lake or 712-732-3096 ext. 3.
