A local "High-Demand High-Wage Careers & Financial Aid Planning Workshop" will be offered at the Storm Lake Prairie Lakes AEA Building on Tuesday, January 8th noon-1 p.m.
Anyone looking for a good paying job may benefit from the session, organizers say.
Local employers are having a difficult time filling high wage job openings even in this recession economy, due to a lack of properly trained candidates in the local market. Learn about the skill building programs to prepare for a successful high-demand career.
The workshop is free and open to the public, and is being held during the Storm Lake Area Job Fair. Participants will have the opportunity to look at various career choices and skill building programs, visit with local employers, and schedule individual advising times. Presenters include Gary Lalone, Storm Lake United; Jim Patrick, City of Storm Lake; and Dan Anderson, Iowa Centeral Community College.
