Jason "Beafy" Allan Brock, age 36, of Linn Grove and formerly of West Palm Beach, Fla., died Dec. 17, 2012 at the Spencer Hospital in Spencer.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Rembrandt. Burial will be at a later date. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Jason Allan Brock was born Aug. 12, 1976 in Storm Lake the son of David and Rhonda (Christiansen) Brock. As an infant, he was baptized at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alta where he was later confirmed in 1990.
Growing up, Jason attended Sioux Valley Community Elementary in Linn Grove and Peterson. In 1994, he graduated from Sioux Central High School. Following high school graduation, he attended Western Iowa Tech.
Jason worked at the River Boat in Sioux City dealing cards before moving to Florida. While living in Florida, he worked on a gambling ship and then at a casino.
Jason enjoyed playing cards, cribbage and games on the computer. He also liked putting legos together of all kinds. In his spare time, he enjoyed going to casinos and playing pool. Vacationing to Lake Okoboji with his family was very important to him. He also loved to go fishing. Jason treasured the times he was able to spend with friends, especially his trip to Scotland with his roommate and trips to Las Vegas as well.
Jason was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching baseball and football games along with collecting baseball and football cards. He also enjoyed collecting wolf items and dragons. Jason loved playing games on his PS Vita and other hand held games as well. Family and friends were very important to Jason and he enjoyed playing cards with them. He will be deeply missed.
Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Dave and Rhonda Brock of Linn Grove; brother, Justin Brock of Des Moines; aunts and uncles: David and Shanda Bannister of Storm Lake; Doris Harvey of Storm Lake; Rick Christiansen of Linn Grove; Diane Christiansen of Peterson; Don and Kay Christiansen of Kewanee, Ill.; Denise Harding of Topeka, Kan.; extended family and friends, especially those in Florida.
Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents, Johnny and Maxine Christiansen; Don and Sylvia Brock; uncles: Jerry Christiansen, Gary Christiansen, and Donnie Brock; cousin, Tammy (Christiansen) Johnson.
