Sac County Sheriff's Officials responded to two separate accidents on US Hwy 20 on Friday afternoon Dec. 14.
The first accident was reported at 12:11 p.m. and occurred at N-28 and Hwy 20 north of Lytton.
A 2012 Peterbuilt tractor was pulling a tank trailer and was traveling west on Hwy 20. This vehicle was being operated by 63-year-old Wendell Brockman of Sioux City. Robert Bradford, 86, of Fonda, was operating a 1996 Cadillac Deville and was headed north on N-28. Bradford had crossed the eastbound traffic lane and was attempting to cross the westbound lane when he collided with Brockman. Bradford and his passenger were transported to Loring Hospital in Sac City for an evaluation. Neither reported any injuries. Brockman was not injured in the accident. No charges have yet been filed.
Lytton Fire and Rescue and the Sac City Ambulance assisted.
At 1:40 p.m., the Sheriff's Office responded 3 1/2 miles west of Early on Hwy 20 for a single vehicle roll- over accident.
Derrick Delaughter age 21 of Sioux City was traveling west on Hwy 20. Delaughter had just passed a semi-tractor trailer when he lost control on the south shoulder. Delaughter over corrected and entered the north ditch where the 2008 Mazda MZ6 rolled one time coming to rest on it wheels. Delaughter was transported to Loring Hospital in Sac City with non-life threatening injuries. Delaughter was charged with Failure to Maintain Control.
