Blues Drivin' at Jazz & Blues Fest

Storm Lake band Blues Drivin' has signed on with the Cherokee Jazz & Blues Festival.

The high-energy, multi-faceted five-piece classic rock/blues outfit will appear at Cherokee Bowl, 201 Linden Street, Saturday, January 19th, 9 p.m.-midnight.

BD features blistering guitar licks and a sultry saxophone along with tight harmonies and a driving rhythm section that keeps the groove going all night long.

Featuring dual lead female vocalists, Blues Drivin' has one of the most unique and professional sounds you'll hear from a live band.

Mel Kimblad doubles on harmonica when she isn't belting out a steamy blues ballad. Lead singer Barb Johnson contributes guitar and flute, along with smokin' saxophone skills.Henrique Batistti, a Brazil native, is on lead guitar. Drummer Scott Shevel and bassist Doug Adams keep the beat. Expect groovin' blues lines and jammin' improvisation that will keep people on the dance floor.
