Beaver grapplers crown a pair of champions
STORM LAKE - The Buena Vista wrestling team crowned a pair of champions and had four individuals place in the top-six overall during the annual BVU Open held on Saturday inside of the Lamberti Rec Center.
Sophomore 141-pounder Steve Gutschenritter (Grand Junction, Iowa/Glenwood) was the first Beaver to capture an individual title, picking up a high-scoring and thrilling 17-14 victory in his championship bout over Morningside College's Kevin Olson. After a first round bye, Gutschenritter recorded an 11-0 major decision and an 11-4 decision before picking up a narrow 11-8 victory in his semifinal match to move his season record to 7-3.

He's now 11-1 on the year and 99-22 in his career.
