SL Elementary students show they care by making cards for soldiers

Wednesday, December 12, 2012

Local students, kindergarten through fourth grade were asked by Sodexo Food Service of BVU to make Christmas cards for soldiers. They were then treated to cookies, shared by Sherry Wells, manager of the BVU coffee shop and Brooke Garrison, assistant manager (in back of the below photo. This shows only one grade; about 900 cards were made and collected. This is the second year participating. Two grades participated last year, making about 600 cards. The cards will be sent overseas and to veteran's hospitals. Schaller students also participated in making cards. About 1,200 cards will be sent this year. Below is a sign in the elementary hallway, showing kids do care. /Photos by Lorri Glawe
