LEMARS - The Storm Lake wrestling team hit the road Thursday night, heading to LeMars for triangular action. The Tornadoes dropped a pair of duals as they were bested by the Bulldogs, 39-23, as well as Spencer, 55-21.
Against the Tigers, Pah Toe fell by pin to Bailey Hawn in 0:33 at 120. Darren Eades lost 19-3 to John Christopherson at 126, Juan Figueroa won by pin in 1:20 at 132, Juan Morales lost by fall to Levi Gilmore in 0:56 at 138, Kyle Weigert lost an 11-6 decision to Adam Johnson at 146, Juan Estrada won 10-8 over Hunter Cauthron at 152, Austin Patrick was pinned by Tanner Schaefer in 1:27 at 160, Noel Buenelos lost 3-20 to Blaine Johnson at 170, Adrian Castillo pinned Joe Struck in 0:52 at 182, Jose Acebedo was pinned in 1:33 by Ben Pingal and Martin Espinoza pinned Chance Tatman in 5:33 at heavyweight.
Against LeMars, To e fell to Tyler Carlson in 1:10, Eades won 20-4 over Cody Cherlock, Figueroa won by pin over Mason Weiler in 3:09, Morales lost by fall in 1:00, Weigert won by pin over Tyler Hoffman in 1:15, Estrada lost 4-11 to Juan Hernandez, Patrick won by pin in 3:20, Buenelos won by pin in 1:16, Castillo won by pin in 1:19, Acebedo lost by fall in 1:05 and Espinoza lost by fall in 3:27.
"We wrestled hard but I thought we could have been a little more aggressive," said Storm Lake head coach Curt Radcliff. "It was good to get so many matches for our JV kids to. That's an important thing, to have as many guys wrestle as possible. Otherwise people get frustrated without the competition."
The Tornadoes return to action today as they head to Emmetsburg.
