LAURENS - The Newell-Fonda boys broke out of a two-game skid to start the season Tuesday night as they had three players in double figures, led by 23 from Brady Bohe, in a 64-48 victory over Laurens-Marathon.
Bohe hit on 9-of-13, including 3-of-4 from three and added three rebounds on the night. Dillon Anderson followed with 17 points, five rebounds and three assists, and Dalton Anderson had 10 points, four rebounds and five assists. Jake Hahn added seven points and three rebounds.
The Mustangs led 15-10 after one, before extending it to 42-22 at halftime.
Newell-Fonda was 27-of-54 from the field Tuesday night.
Tyler Stumbo led the Chargers, going 7-of-17 for 24 points. He was 8-of-10 at the line and added four rebounds, three assists and four steals. Seth Hersom added seven points and five rebounds, and Ben Fuchs, Will Cleveland and Keegan Jamison added four points apiece.
The Mustangs (1-2) head ot North Union tonight and East Sac County on Friday. Laurens-Marathon (0-2) visits Southeast Webster-Grand Friday.
