ALTA - The Alta-Aurelia boys were held to single digit scoring in all four quarters, finishing 13-of-50 from the field as an icy offensive performance saw them fall to East Sac Saturday night, 60-31.
"Hats off to East Sac County," said A-A head coach Randy Bissen. "They shot the ball well and have a real nice player in (Reed)Tellinghuisen. We knew we were going to have to take care of the basketball and make some shots to compete. Unfortunately, our turnovers led to layups on the other end. We are inexperienced but we will continue to get better. I love the fight in our kids"
Jayden Van Berkum led the Warriors in the loss, totaling seven points and two rebounds. Mitchel McDonald had six points and seven rebounds, Jayson Van Haaften six points and three rebounds, Zach Sliefert six points and Colton Ballantyne four points.
Tellinghuisen led East Sac (3-0) with 17 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and two steals. Carter Niehaus had 11 points and seven rebounds and Tyler Jacobson had 12 points, five boards and five steals.
Alta-Aurelia is on the road tonight to take on Sioux Central (1-1). They remain on the road over the weekend at Pocahontas Area Friday and Trinity Christian Saturday.
