Raptor wrestlers open season, top Alta-Aurelia, MMC

HOLSTEIN - The Ridge View wrestling team opened their season Tuesday night and came out with a pair of dual team wins as they topped Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn, 57-24, and Alta-Aurelia, 54-22.

Against M-M-C, Peyton Boyle won 6-2 at 126, Ryan Cougill won by pin at 132 in 0:39, Jason Kenny won by pin in 3:17 at 138, Tylar Hansen won b pin in 1:06 at 145, Joe Kenny lost by fall in 131 at 152, Dru Kenny lost by fall in 3:31 at 160, Matt Wandrey lost by fall in 3:21 at 170, Kyle Schiernbeck lost by fall in 3:50 at 182, Henry Sippel won by fall in 3:31 at 195, Michal Davidson won by fall in 0:21 at 220, Nathan Myrice won by fall in 1:57 at 285, Tyler Ehrp won by forfeit at 106, Kelby Wunschel won by fall in 1:10 at 113 and Luke Kliegl won by fall in 1:11 at 120.

Against Alta-Aurelia, Cody Cameron pinned Cougill in 3:49, Jason Kenny pinned parker Meier in 2:52, Hansen pinned Ben Stange in 2:48, Dylan Ohlson pinned Joe Kenny in 0:29, Dru Kenny won by forfeit, Wandrey won an 8-6 decision over Jackson Rosenthall, Schiernbeck won 9-5 over Manny Murrillo, Daniel Ramirez won by forfeit at 195 for the Raptors, Garrett Van Houten ton a 10-0 major decision over Sippel, Myrice pinned Joe Rodriguez in 0:46, Colton Larson pinned Ehrp in 2:56, Wunschel won by forfeit at 113, Kliegl by forfeit at 120, and Boyle by forfeit at 126.

"The coaches were happy with the results and how hard the kids competed from start to finish but know we have some work to do," said head coach Scott Phelps.

The Raptors are back in action at Manson on Saturday.
