Winter Reading Program at the SL Library begins soon

Monday, December 3, 2012

The Winter Reading Program for young readers will begin on Dec.15, and will run until Jan 12, at the Storm Lake Public Library. Danuta Hutchins will kick off the program at 11 a.m. on Dec. 15, and read her newly illustrated book by Chloe Jon Paul. One lucky child in the audience will be eligible to win the new book.

The first twenty children who register for the program will have a chance to win an adult ticket to Santa's Castle. The drawing for this contest will be on Dec. 21.

A reading log must be brought to the library to claim prizes or enter a drawing. Children will be able to check off two books on the reading log if they attend the Children's Renaissance Faire on Dec. 27.

This program is generously supported by the Friends of the Storm Lake Public Library. Santa's Castle donated admission tickets for two contests. Buena Vista County's Family Steps and the Witter Gallery are joining the Friends to sponsor the Children's Renaissance Faire.

For more information, call the library, 732-8026 and talk with Elizabeth Huff, Youth Services Librarian.
