Young burglars make off with 600-lb safe, $10,000+ in cash

On November 12, Sac City Police were dispatched to 504 N. 12th St. in Sac City for a reported burglary. Officers found that someone had gained entry into the residence and removed a steel safe weighing about 600 lbs. from the home. The safe was later found in an undisclosed location. The safe had been pried open and contents including over $10,000 in cash was gone.

After an investigation, officers served a search warrant at 604 Park Ave. Apt. 1 in Sac City. Over $5000 in brand new merchandise was seized from the residence.

The Sac City Police Department arrested Andrew Lee Thomas Jr. age 20 of Sac City, Daniel Rangel age 18 of Sac City, Austin Stadler age 19 of Nemaha, and Troy Tuggle age 20 of Early.

All four were booked into the Sac County Jail on Charges of Burglary 2nd Degree, Theft 1st Degree, and Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree - all felonies. Each was held $10,000 bond.
