The regular meeting of the Maple Valley Ag 4-H Club was held Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 at 5 p.m. at the Alta Bowling Alley.
The meeting was called to order by President Jayden Van Berkum with 22 members and many parents in attendance. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Caylee Witzke. The secretary's and treasurer's were given and approved.
Bills: Thank yous -$8, patch pictures - $25, Pilot Tribune - $73.24, canvases - $80, patch rent - $200 and bowling. These bills were approved.
Birthdays for September, October, and November: Kaity Brake, Katie Van Berkum, Anna Cox, Tamra Elliott, Chris Peterson, Lily Peterson, Cassidy Boom, and Abbie Watts.
Old Business: 4-H Awards Night was Nov. 4, at 6:30 p.m. at the Extension Office. You can sign up for the CWF trip; information is in the motivator.
New Business: A Christmas party will be held at the next meeting. Please bring a $5 gift. The group will be going Christmas caroling afterwards; please sign up to bring a dozen cookies for Ashley Peterson's leadership project.
Dates to remember: On Dec.1 there will be a bread-making workshop at the Storm Lake High School from 9 a.m.-12. The cost is $5; make sure you sign up by Nov. 30 at the Extension Office. On Dec. 2 there will be a club officers training from 1-3 p.m. Please RSVP by Nov. 28 at the Extension Office. Beef weigh-in will be on Dec. 8 at Alta Livestock. There will be a sewing workshop on Jan.2 and a babysitting clinic on Jan. 5.

Presenters were Kaity and Cole Brake. Kaity did a presentation on her peacock and Cole did a presentation on his duck eggs.
The next meeting will be Sunday, Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. at the Alta Elementary Gym followed by caroling. Next meeting's hosts are Ashley and Danielle Peterson and Rachael and Matthew Arnts. Presenters will be Ashley, Danielle, Rachael, and Matthew.
