Mary Rose Wolf
Mary Rose Wolf, age 96, of Varina, died November 11, at the Newell Good Samaritan Center in Newell.
Mary Rose Reis was born August 24, 1916 in Varina, the daughter of Leo and Mary (Murphy) Reis. She was baptized, received 1st Communion, and was confirmed at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Varina where she remained a lifelong member.
Growing up, she attended country school through the eighth grade and high school at St. Columbkille.
On April 22, 1935 Mary Rose was united in marriage to C. Arnold Wolf at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Varina. Together, they were blessed with four children: Eileen, Karen, Ray, and Carla.
Mary Rose was very active in the St. Columbkille Catholic Church where she was a member of Catholic Daughters, Altar Society, and Adult Choir. She was also a member of Auxillary.
Mary Rose had a passion for music. One could often find her playing the organ or piano. She also enjoyed sewing, upholstery, and gardening. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing Bingo or gambling. Mary Rose treasured spending time with her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Karen (Fred) Kraft of Fonda; Ray (Mary) Wolf of Varina; Carla (Dennis) Lindgren of Varina; grandchildren: Dave Maneman, Pam Tidemann, John Maneman, Dale (Judy) Kraft, Paul (Kelli) Kraft, Deb (Neal) Lindgren, Donna (John) Weiss, Fred J. Kraft, Duane (Megan) Wolf, Don (Krystal) Wolf, Dean Wolf, Roseanne Wolf, Dan (Bre) Lindgren, Kevin Lindgren; 24 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren: brother, Albert (Luthera) Reis of Minnesota; sister, Clarice Bunda of Pocahontas; brother-in-law, Harold Reigelsberger of Humboldt; sisters-in-law: Helen Reis of Fonda; Bernadine Reis of Pocahontas; Ruth Reis of Pocahontas; Loretta Wolf of Fort Dodge; Deldine (Jack) O'Connor of Scottsdale, Ariz.; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Mary Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Mary Reis; husband, C. Arnold Wolf; daughter, Eileen Maneman; son-in-law, Jim Maneman; one sister; and five brothers.
