Cindy Bosley of Boz Wellz is firing up the ovens for a second annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner to be held on the holiday, Nov. 22 at Lake Avenue Lounge.
"I think it can be a lonely holiday for a lot of people. I just wanted there to be an option for people to get together instead of sitting home alone," she says.
Last year's meal served 150, plus about 75 home deliveries. This year, Cindy says she'll be ready for 300.
On the menu: turkey, ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, green bean casserole, cranberries, macaroni salad, pumpkin pie, carrot cupcakes and a rice and raisins dish from grandma's secret recipe.
There is no charge for the meal, for those who wish, free will donations can be made to help offset the cost of the food.
Cindy is looking for volunteers to help serve and deliver meals. Those who would like to come but need transportation may also contact her at 299-1875.
"It's a great chance to spread some cheer," she says. "It's a big job, but it's worth it."
