Auditor of State David A. Vaudt has released an audit report on the Alta Municipal Utilities of Alta. This report includes the cash receipts and expenditure activities of the Alta Municipal Utilities and other information.
Alta Municipal Utilities operate Electric and Water utility department. The Utilities' combined receipts totaled $2,166,266 for the year ended Dec. 31, 2011, a 22 percent increase from 2010. The revenues included $1,726,546 from charges for services, $8,356 from investment interest, $56,364 from other general receipts and $375,000 contribution from Alta Municipal Broadband Communications Utility.
Disbursements for the year totaled $2,690,370, a 39 percent increase from the prior year, including $1,301,599 for operating expenses, $95,989 for other general expenses, including transfers to the City of Alta of $56,206, $953,407 for capital outlay and $339, 375 for debt service.
The significant increase in receipts was primarily due to a transfer from the Communications Utility during 2011.
The significant increase in expenses is due to capital outlay associated with a construction project.
