Friday, October 12, 2012

SPENCER - The Storm Lake swim team was in Spencer Monday night, and the Tornadoes dropped a pair of duals as they fell to the Tigers by a score of 64-30 and Algona by a final of 52-42.

"We had a rough night due to injuries and absences," said Storm Lake head coach Kari Dyer. "I'm hoping to see times start to drop over the next few weeks in time for districts. We did have some strong performances from Keely Soellner and Destini Oehertz."

Soellner took first in the 200 free at 2:09.45 and second in the 100 free at 59.09. Oehertz was first in the 200 individual medley at 2:33.74 and first in the 100 back stroke at 1:06.90.

The Tornadoes head back to Spencer Tuesday night.
