On Sunday, October 7, the Storm Lake Knights of Columbus held their annual Personal with Intellectual Disabilities Drive and Omelette Breakfast. This year's honorary chairperson was Brian Van Haaften, Buena Vista University's Head Men's Basketball Coach. He and his team put in volunteer time at the breakfast to take part in this fundraiser. The BVU Men's Basketball team worked and energized the breakfast with the very community-minded athletes who participated.

"On behalf of the Storm Lake Knights of Columbus, we wish to thank all of those that helped us with this year's annual drive for persons with intellectual disabilities. The KC's enjoy working with the community to assist those programs in our area, including Faith, Hope & Charity, Genesis Development, Storm Lake Special Education and Storm Lake Special Olympics," said John Murray, a Storm Lake Knight, "The KC's also specially thank Coach Brian Van Haaften and his players who not only acted as our Honorary Chairmen, but also cooked most of our omelettes."

The Storm Lake Knight of Columbus will present donations to the area programs serving persons with intellectual disabilities in November. More information about the funds collected and the projects the money will support will be announced in the near future.
