Auditor of State, David A Vaudt, has released an audit report on the Alta Municipal Broadband Communications Utility in Alta. This report includes the cash receipts and disbursement activities of the Alta Municipal Broadband Communications Utility and other information.
Alta Municipal Broadband Communications Utility operates telephone and cable and internet utility departments. The Utilities' revenues totaled $752,828 for the year ended Dec. 31, 2011, no significant change from 2010. The revenues included $752,828 from charges for service.
Expenses for the year totaled $1,103,149, a 50 percent increase from the prior year and included $710,540 for operating expenses and $375,000 for contributions to Alta Municipal Utilities.
The significant increase in expenses is due primarily to the transfer to Alta Municipal Utilities for coaxial cable infrastructure totaling $375,000 in 2011.
