SPIRIT LAKE - A usually efficient Tornado team found themselves on the wrong side of the ledge Thursday night in Spirit Lake, totaling 18 errors to 17 kills as they were dropped by the Indians in three straight; 16-25, 13-25, 16-25.

"We played with more energy tonight so that was good to see," said Storm Lake head coach Kim Johnson. "We didn't get to our spots defensively and Spirit Lake took advantage of that. We also had a negative hitting efficiency, which means we had more hitting errors than we had kills and that makes it very difficult to win."

Maggie Freking led the Tornadoes with seven kills in 14 attempts. She added seven digs and two aces. Erin Schuelke had two kills, 12 assists and five digs, Kallie Croker had two kills and five digs, Annabelle Eades had two kills, Emily Johnson had two kills and Megan Miller had 11 digs.

The Tornadoes drop to 9-10 with the loss and will be in LeMars on Tuesday.
