Denise A. Wise, age 54, of Linn Grove, died October 1, at her home in Linn Grove.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 6, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Church in Sioux Rapids. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church where the family will be present the entire time. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.

Denise Ann Wise, the daughter of Darlene (Hughes) Wise, was born in Storm Lake, on July 16, 1958. Her lifetime was spent in Linn Grove. She graduated from the Sioux Valley High School in 1976 and continued her education at the Spencer School of Business.

Denise is the proud mother of her daughter, Kris Wise. For the past 23 years, Denise has been employed as a bookkeeper at PSA, Inc. in Alta. Denise was a member of the First United Church of Sioux Rapids.

A special passion of Denise's life was working as a volunteer with SYC- Special Youth Challenge. One of her responsibilities as a volunteer was managing SYC's website. Her spirit of volunteerism carried over into her community and you could find her helping wherever needed in Linn Grove. Denise was also blessed with many talents that included making soaps and lotions and sewing. You could always find Denise working in an asparagus patch and she will be remembered for making her pickled asparagus. Another joy of Denise's was taking care of her nephew, Jake. Denise always looked forward to and loved going on the "sister-in-law's vacations and weekends."

Denise's life is being remembered and celebrated by her family which include her daughter, Kris Wise and her husband, William Alexander, of Wichita, Kan.; mother, Darlene Wise of Linn Grove; her six brothers: Dennis (Brigitte) Wise of Heltersburg, Germany; Dwain (Karen) Wise of Sweet Home, Ore.; Emmett (Marlene) Wise of Defiance; Randy Wise of Sioux Rapids; Jim (Deb) Wise of Sioux Rapids; and Mickey Wise of Peterson; sister, Lori (James) Carlson of Sioux Rapids; special nieces and nephews: Thomas, Michael, Melissa, Kim, Lisa, Josh, Jake, Matthew, Amy, Ethan, and Arielle; other extended family; and her many friends from her work and throughout the area.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Denise's memory to SYC.
