EVERLY - Sioux Central visited a tough Clay Central-Everly squad Tuesday night and fell in five to the Mavericks with scores of 20-25, 25-17, 25-18, 14-25, 7-15.
"It's been an up and down season, and that's exactly how we played," said Sioux Central head coach Sue Matson. "At times, we looked really good, and at other times I didn't know where my team went. Communication and aggressiveness are the keys to our game, and we lacked this at times. This match should have been ours, but we turned to tipping and pushing instead of hitting. We can't win games like this."
Hallie Ehlers led the Rebels with nine kills and 16 digs. Erin Rachuy had nine kills, Mikayla Landsness had seven kills, Nicole Hamilton had six kills and 11 digs, Bailey McGuire had five kills, 15 assists and and 13 digs, and Jessica Johnson had 16 digs.
Next up for the Rebels (13-13) is a trip to South O'Brien Tuesday.
