Alta Kiwanis Notes

The Alta Kiwanis meet Tuesday, Sept. 18 at Wel Life.

Guest speaker was Kevin Hammer, Alta-Aurelia football coach. Coach Hammer is assisted by Rory Payne, Tim Galvin, Chris Reinert, and former Aurelia head coach Grant Peckenschneider.

A-A is in a new district - Class A - this year which features five ranked teams. Currently, A-A is 1-1 in district play. The team has 45 members and features eight seniors and nine juniors. The team has mandatory weight-lifting Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. This is homecoming week for Alta-Aurelia, highlighted by a game with Lawton-Bronson on Friday night. The homecoming parade took place on Wednesday with king and queen coronation to follow. On Thursday, Sept. 20 there will be a varsity home volley ball game.

Kiwanians participated in the homecoming parade.

Kiwanis will serve pancakes at a homecoming breakfast Friday, Sept. 21 at 7 a.m. at Alta Golf Course for football players, coaches, andcheerleaders.

Dicussion was held on having Kiwanis bus watches at two sites where town children are picked up for school tabled to next week's meeting.

P.I.E. dictionaries were presented to third graders on Wedsnesday, Sept. 19.

Next popcan collection is set for Friday morning, Oct. 5.
