The public is invited to Faith Lutheran Church on Saturday, Aug. 4, at 7 p.m., to hear Cambodian missionary The Rev. Dr. Fungchatou Lo share his personal story of faith and mission work.

The Lo family has been in the United States this summer, traveling in Iowa, Colorado, Minnesota and Nebraska for the past month, staying with host families and reporting on their work in Asia.

Fungchatou and his wife, Kalia, and their family are based out of Cambodia. Their mission is to equip and facilitate local churches to reach out to the lost through the ministries of evangelism, theological education and human care projects.

Born in Laos, the Los care for people by exploring how they can meet their basic needs in the areas of housing, economic development, social welfare and education through Concordia Welfare and Education Foundation, a Hong Kong-based Christian organization. Fungchatou also coordinates classes and training programs to develop Lutheran pastors and leaders in Southeast Asia.

Fungchatou and Kalia were both educated in the U.S., earning bachelor's and master's degrees at the University of Wisconsin. Fungchatou also received his doctorate from UW and his Ordination Certificate from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. He previously served the Hmong members at Grace Lutheran Church in Brooklyn Park, Minn., as the Hmong Mission facilitator for the North America Mission and director for the Hmong Mission Society's Thailand project.

Please come to this uplifting program at Faith Lutheran Church, located on U.S. Hwy 59, at 113 N. Main St., in downtown Holstein. For more information, please call 368-2850 or e-mail faith@faithholstein.com.
