Holton shines as Warriors blank Sioux Central, 5-0

EMMETSBURG - Alta-Aurelia is on to Class 2A's, District 2 final Saturday night in Emmetsburg as they rodoe Jaden Holton's two-hitter to a 5-0 victory over Sioux Central Tuesday night.

Holton carried a no-hitter into the fifth, walked two and struck out seven as the Twin Lakes Conference third place finisher Alta-Aurelia got the better of the conference runner-up Rebels.

At the plate, Austin Delp went 2-for-3 with a triple and drove in a pair to lead the Warriors. Neil Marshall was 1-for-3, drove in one and scored one, A.J. Lange drove in one and scored one, and Holton and Jalen Henningsen both went 1-for-3, stole a base and scored a run.

Alta-Aurelia plated three runs in the first and another two in the third.

Brad Ripke took the loss for the Rebels as he gave up five runs, four earned on six hitss in six innings. He walked two and struck out four. Ripke and Tim Saunders had a hit apiece for Sioux Central as they end their season with a record of 20-9.

Alta-Aurelia improves to 21-10. They will meet North Union (NSK-AR), who topped Estherville-Lincoln Central, 3-1. North Union is 25-6 on the season
