The Warriors plated the opening run in the second inning, but a two-run single by Blake Seier in the third gave Spencer a 4-1 lead they would not relinquish. Spencer added three runs in the fourth and sixth innings, and Alta-Aurelia plated two in the fourth and one in the fifth.
Cody Cameron took the loss for the Warriors, allowing four runs on two hits with four walks in 2 and 2/3rds innings. James Curbow spelled for three innings, allowing three runs on four hits with three walks.
A.J. Lange led the Alta-Aurelia bats as he had a 3-for-3 night with a double and two runs driven in. Jalen Henningsen was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored, and Jayson Van Haaften drove in a run.
Tayler Tatman got the win for Spencer, allowing four runs, three earned, in seven innings. He walked just one and struck out five. Seier and Austin Allen led the Tigers with two hits and two runs batted in apiece.
The Warriors close out the regular season with a record of 19-10. They open Class 2A District play tonight in Emmetsburg against Okoboji. The winner advances to meet Sioux Central on Tuesday night. Emmetsburg, Estherville-Lincoln Central and North Union make up the other half of the district.
