Alta-Aurelia totaled just three hits in the contest, but they received seven free passes to first and stole 12 bases. Starter A.J. Lange lasted just two innings, giving up three earned on two hits with four strikeouts and two walks. Austin Delp shined in relief, throwing five innings of two hit ball. He walked none and struck out eight.
At the plate, Jalen Henningsen led the way as he went 2-for-4 with a run scored, three stolen bases and three runs driven in. Jayson Van Haaften was 1-for-4 and drove in two, James Curbow stole three bases and scored twice, Zach Sliefert stole two bases and scored twice, and Ross Friedrich walked twice, stole two bases and scored a run.
Brendan Kelly led the Newell-Fonda bats as he went 1-for-3 with a double and two runs driven in and one run scored. Rigo Johnson was 2-for-3 with a run scored, and Jake Hahn was 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored.
The Warriors now sit at 19-8 on the year and visit Spencer Thursday night. Newell-Fonda sits at 8-13 on the year and visits Pocahontas Area/Pomeroy-Palmer on Thursday.
