STORM LAKE - Nic Seaman doubled home Aaron Krier in the bottom of the first, and that's all the run support Krier would need as he tossed a one-hitter in Storm Lake's 1-0 victory over Cherokee Monday night.

Krier doubled his way aboard to lead off the inning, collecting one of seven base hits by the Tornadoes on the night. Seaman, Trey O'Brien, Ethan Kenkel, Blake Overmohle, Taylor Friesen and Jay Grant all had a hit apiece in the low-scoring contest.

Krier walked five and struck out seven in the victory, pushing him to 4-1 on the season. He holds a 2.80 earned run average with 24 strikeouts in 25 innings.

At the plate, Krier has been the Tornadoes' most consistent bat as the season nears regular season completion as he holds a .469 average with 27 runs scored and 13 driven in. Kenkel has batted .441 with 22 driven in, Overmohle .420 with 14 runs scored and O'Brien .383 with 20 runs scored.

The Tornadoes improve at 11-10 overall on the season. They host Spirit Lake Friday night.
