St. Mary's girls run record to 7-2

STORM LAKE - Laurens-Marathon jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first, but St. Mary's answered with four in the bottom half of the inning, and talked on another 11 in the third and fourth as they took down the Chargers by a 15-3 final.

Maddie Laven led the offensive onslaught as she was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and four driven in. Riley Lenhart was 1-for-2 with three driven in, Jasmine Demers was 2-for-3 with two driven in and two scored, Mackenzie Laven drove in two and scored two, Mary Rose Timko was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and one driven in, and Ashley Lullman drove in one and scored two.

Rachel Todd was the inner on the mound as she allowed one earned run on seven hits. She walked one and struck out two.

Briley Sullivan took the loss on the mound for the Chargers as she allowed 12 Panther hits with five walks and one strikeout. Lauren Link was 1-for-2 with two runs driven in. Brooke Runneberg added an RBI.

The Chargers also fell to Harris-Lake Park Thursday, again watching a three-run first inning lead disappear. Laina Sullivan was 2-for-4 with two driven in, and Briley Sullivan was 3-for-4 with one driven in. On the mound, she allowed seven earned on six hits. She walked seven and struck out for.

The Chargers have now dropped eight in a row. They host Southeast Webster Grand Friday. St. Mary's now sits at 7-2 and hosts Prairie Valley Friday. They visit the Woodbury Central tournament this weekend.
