The Alta Kiwanis met Tuesday, May 29 at Wel-Life.
The morning featured two guest speakers - Alta Mayor Ron Neulieb spoke first. He stated that work on the new waste water plant was currently ahead of schedule and was coming in under budget. A community night out is being planned for Aug. 7. The night out would give Alta residents a chance to know police, firemen and neighbors.
The mayor thanked all those who helped plant flowers in the new planters on Main Street. The community garden keeps growing and the city plans on putting a hydrant by the garden. Tom Konrady recently became Alta Code Enforcement Officer.
Second to speak was Lynn Evans - Superintendent of Alta-Aurelia Schools. There is positive feedback on the sharing of the two schools. The grounds around the new high school have been seeded.
