Timothy K. Bruns, 64, of Albert City, died Sunday, May 20, 2012 at his home in rural Albert City.

Funeral services were Friday, May 25 at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake.

The arrangements were under the direction of the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.

Timothy Keith Bruns was born Jan, 26, 1948, in Garden City, Kan., the son of Roland and Anna (Staab) Bruns.

During his youth, Tim lived with his family in Dighton, Kan. where he received his education, graduating from Dighton High School in 1966. He attended Fort Hays State in Hays, Kan. receiving his Master of Science degree in Speech/Language Pathology in 1976.

Tim joined the United States Air Force, in September 1967, serving during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharge in September 1971.

On July 20, 1994, Tim was united in marriage to Annette (Bollard) Garriott in Las Vegas, Nev.

As a child, Tim was baptized and confirmed at the Lutheran Church in Dighton, Kan. He currently was a member of the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake.

Tim's life was dedicated to the children he served. Admirably, he worked as a Speech Language Pathologist with the AEA for 31 years, retiring in May of 2007. When he was not working, Tim enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish Tim's memory are his wife, Annette Bruns of Albert City; his children: Nichole (Ed) Pellowski of Indianapolis, Ind.; Bill (Janelle) Garriott of Chandler, Ariz.; Melissa (Jared) Kearney of Forest City; Sarah (Mark) Jacobson of Chandler, Ariz.; seven grandchildren: Maddie Pellowski; Abby, Nick, Jack and Emma Garriott; Luke and Max Kearney; two brothers: Brad (Cindy) Bruns of Maize, Kan.; Roger (Charyne) Bruns of Kansas City, Mo.; extended family and friends.

Preceding Tim in death are his parents; brother, Stanley Bruns of Akron, Ohio; and one grandson, Evan Pellowski.
