Dale "Shorty" Noethe

Dale "Shorty" Noethe, age 77, of Fort Dodge, and formerly of Fonda, died Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Fonda Nursing & Rehab Center in Fonda.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 19, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Fonda. Burial will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery in Fonda. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at the church on Saturday. The Mahaney Funeral Home in Fonda is in charge of the arrangements.

Dale Joseph Noethe was born Dec. 6, 1934 in Carroll, to Joseph and Mary (Kotschewar) Noethe. He lived with his family in the Fonda area, where he attended school at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Schools in Fonda, graduating with the class of 1953.

In 1957, Dale entered the U.S. Army. He proudly served until he was honorably discharged in 1959.

Dale was employed with the Iowa Beef Production and Sani Fe. He enjoyed golfing, watching sports and was a member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Fort Dodge.

Those left to cherish Dale's memory are his sisters: Mary Jane (Richard) Collison of Carroll; Bonnie (Ed) LaClair of Lapeer, Mich.; Joan Hogan of Fort Dodge; Karon (Allan) Ludwig of Elkhart, Ind.; sister-in-law, Mildred Noethe McCoy of Fonda; nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Melvin Noethe; brothers-in-law, Jerry Hogan and Myron Neppl; and nephew, Dan Noethe.
