Surrounded by family during his February graduation from the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Jonathan Meylor became the 32nd member in his family to receive a Doctor of Chiropractic degree.

Since Palmer tradition allows alumni family members to accompany a graduating doctor across the stage, Meylor graduates and their large crowd of supporters are typically met with a standing ovation from the audience. Additional family members from Chicago and North Carolina had planned to attend, but a snowstorm the day before hampered travel.

Following his graduation, Jon has precepted with cousins Al and Dan Kennedy at their chiropractic practice in Cherokee, but plans to open his own practice in Omaha, Neb. by July.

"The Meylor family is one of the three largest chiropractic families in the world," said Laurie Meylor, Meylor Chiropractic Storm Lake. But the family does more than just run offices---they promote chiropractic care through being part of various boards and committees, teaching during seminars or educating at chiropractic colleges.

Jon is the son of Kay Meylor of Cherokee and the late Jamie Meylor, nephew of Lee and Laurie Meylor of Lakeside and the grandson of Betty Meylor of LeMars and the late Paul Meylor.
