To qualify for the Class 2A meet, a participant must be either first or second in the event or have one of the top eight times statewide.
The Alta-Aurelia boys wound up third at the District meet in Sioux Center, totaling a team score of 71. Only Unity Christian (115) and Okoboji (99) finished higher. Sioux Central was seventh with a 52.
The Ridge View boys will be sending seven events out of the OA-BCIG District, including two in the 100 meter dash as Seth Johnson qualified with an 11.36 and Ryan Garthoff with an 11.49. Dru Kenny made it in the 200 with a 22.82, and Nathan Myrice made it in the shot (51'9.5"). The Raptor 4x100 of Garthoff, Johnson, Austin Graff and Dru Kenny qualified with a 44.39, as did the 4x200 of Garthoff, Johnson, Graff and Kenny at 1:32.72 and the shuttle hurdle relay of Kyle Wessling, Derrick Williams, Christian Egger and Sergio Carbajal at 1:02.13.
Leading the Rebels in Sioux Center, Nick Wittmaack was District champ in the 400 hurdles at 55.06, and Judah Hoffman was first in the 3200 (10:28.35). The Rebels were second in the shuttle hurdle relay of Ethan Lindquist, Brad Ripke, Tanner Perrigo and Wittmaack at 59.93. Lindquist was also an individual qualifier with a fourth place finish in the 110 hurdles (15.68) and a third place finish in the 800 (2:04.50).
The Rebels qualified three relays as their 4x400 relay of Morgan Walker, Nicole Hamilton, Johannsen, and Hamilton was second at 4:15.53, third in the sprint medley of Shena Geisinger, Paige Meisinger, Fahnlander and Callie Buske, and fourth in the 4x800 of Walker, Buske, Brandy Richards and Rachel Hamilton (10:16.72).
The Ridge View girls will also send two in the 100 meter dash as Emily Kenny made it with a 13.22 and Rachel Hunt with a 13.43. Sydney Kistenmacher qualified with a 27.49 in the 200, and Gretchen Kistenmacher qualified in the 400 hurdles at 1:10.31. The Raptors will also send their distance medley of Jadyn Mohr, Kistenmacher, Kistenmacher and Nicole Snyder (4:27.71).
Class 2A events begin Thursday morning at 9AM.
