Creek Fest lineup set

Tuesday, April 24, 2012

Cherokee Creek Fest returns this year, and will partner with June E. Nylen Cancer Center to raise money for cancer treatment.

A poker run, a walk/run and a mud run through the creek and hillside are planned. A mechanical bull will also be on hand.

The 2012 Creek Fest becomes a three-day festival, Friday July 20-Sunday July 22, and will coincide with the Across Iowa biker rally.

Friday's entertainment kicks off with The Soggy River Bottom Boys, who have become a Creek Fest tradition. The Rude Band, a midwest favorite, will follow and rock into the night.

Saturday's music begins with Short Notice, just recently formed in the Storm Lake area, but already a local favorite. The Fork in the Road Band, a recording act from Council Bluffs, follows with originals and covers. Next is Arch Allies, a nationally-know tribute band with Journey, REO Speedwagon and Styx hits, complete with costumes.

By popular request, the band Wave Length has been signed to kick off Sunday. Popular group Riata returns to follow. Wrapping up Sunday will be The Innocence, a young band from Kearney, Neb. that knows how to party with the crowd.
