Funeral services were held Monday, April 9, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Albert City. Burial was in the Fairfield Township Cemetery in Albert City. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City was in charge of the arrangements.
Lynn Marlin Foster, the son of Ernest and Elizabeth (Fuchs) Foster, was born in Wanda, Minn. on Feb. 19, 1928. He lived his youth in the Laurens area and was a 1945 graduate of the Ware High School.
Lynn was united in marriage to Mavis Peterson in Albert City, on Feb. 16, 1950. Together, they were blessed with five children: Jeffery, James, Randall, Tammy, and Tracey. The majority of Lynn and Mavis' married lifetime has been spent in the Albert City community. Lynn worked for a brief time for Dr. Vegors in his farming operation. He was then employed for 25 years at the Wilson Packing Plant in Cherokee.
Lynn had many special and varied interests which included attending ball games, gardening, traveling, fishing, and playing cards. One of his favorite pastimes was enjoying coffee and conversation with his friends at Crossroads. Lynn was a longtime member of the Our Savior's Lutheran Church at Albert City where he was also confirmed.
Lynn's life will always be celebrated and honored by his family which include his wife, Mavis of Albert City; children: Jeffery Foster of Orlando, Fla.; James (Nasrin) Foster of St. Albans, Vt.; Randall (Diana) Foster of Overland Park, Kan.; Tammy (Ketty) Spiers of Seneca, Mo.; Tracey (William) Pickering of Parkville, Mo.; four grandchildren: Rob Foster, Daniel Foster, Weston Pickering and Julia Pickering; one great-grandchild, Maverick Foster; two sisters: Ardys Hanisch of Laurens; Elizabeth Stevens of Ames; other extended family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and five brothers: Donald, Merle, Faye, Dell, and Lyle.
