Geraldine L. Williams, 72, of Cherokee, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2012 at her home in Cherokee.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Pastor Jeff Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee. There will be a family prayer service at the funeral home at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 9th from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. with the family present from 6:30-8 p.m. Monday evening at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Geraldine was born March 9, 1940 at Spencer, to Roy and Vera (Rodine) Clauson. She graduated from Marathon High School in 1957. After high school, she attended Mankato Business College. She worked for Sunhomes Manufacturing in Albert City before she was married. She was united in marriage to George W. Williams on Jan. 9, 1966 at Webb. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Cherokee. Geraldine was involved in volunteering at the Cherokee Villa for many years and had a special heart for the elderly. She enjoyed hiking, roller skating and music, especially playing the organ and accordion.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother in law Gene Williams.

Geraldine is survived by her husband George W.; 1 sister: Darlene Weigart of Storm Lake; 2 nieces: Doris (Dale) Wiley of Storm Lake and their children Ryan and Josh; Delores (Jim) Schachtner of Storm Lake and their children Emily and Jake; 1 great-great niece Nevaeh Schachtner; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law in law: Marjorie (Gerald) Goodburn of Cherokee; Irvin (Opal) Williams of Cherokee; Darlene Williams of Sioux Falls, S.D., many nieces and nephews.
