Victoria Gutz Christensen, age 93, of Houston, Texas and formerly of Boone, and Storm Lake, died March 23, 2012 in Houston.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 27, at Zion Lutheran Church in rural Storm Lake. Burial was on Tuesday, March 27 in Boone. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake was in charge of the arrangements.

Victoria Louise Gutz, the daughter of Theodore and Louise (Ripke) Gutz, was born in Storm Lake on Aug. 11, 1918. She attended school at Zion Lutheran School in rural Storm Lake.

On Oct. 11, 1948, Victoria was united in marriage to Robert Christensen at the Zion Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. They were blessed with a daughter, Teresa and a son, Theodore.

Over the years, Victoria was a loving and devoted mother, who took pride in keeping her home as a warm, comfortable place to raise her family. She cherished all the time she was able to spend with them.

Her many hobbies included cooking, sewing, and Lutheran Women's League. Additionally, Victoria was an active member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas.

Those left to cherish Victoria's memory are her son, Theodore "Ted" (Becky) Christensen of Houston, Texas; one brother, Gerhardt Gutz of Storm Lake; three sisters: Julie Gutz of Phoenix, Ariz.; Lenore Vogel of Murrieta, Calif.; Zelda Morse of Tucson, Ariz.; extended family and friends.

Victoria was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Louise Gutz; husband, Robert; daughter, Teresa in 2003; brother, Norman Gutz; and two sisters: Vera Toney and Pauline Wilson.
