Storm Lake United is hosting a Kansas City Barbecue Society BBQ Judge Certification Class on Saturday, March 10 in Storm Lake. The class will be from 9am-3pm at the Storm Lake High School. The KCBS representatives are Mike and Theresa Lake.
Registrants will learn the techniques of fairly judging a BBQ Contest and will also receive KCBS Judge Certification credentials. The cost will be $50 for KCBS members, and all members will need to supply their KCBS membership number. The fee is $90 for nonmembers. This fee will include a one-year membership to KCBS, the monthly KCBS "The Bullsheet" publication, and a Certified Barbecue Judge Badge.
KCBS judges are trained in a manner that allows them to appropriately judge all types of barbeque. Areas of training will include, but are not limited to: taste, appearance and texture. The class is in preparation for our LakeFest BBQ Contest on June 15-16.
The Judging Class will close at 75 participants and the LakeFest BBQ Contest will be limited to 42 teams, so register today! When the class and contest are filled, there will be no exceptions. To register for the class, go to www.VisitStormLake.com and click on LakeFest Judging Class.
