New Alta store features a little bit of everything; make an offer

Thursday, February 2, 2012

Tony Nunez has opened a new store in Alta - Alta Shop Thrifty Store - which is filled with treasures that will appeal to many at prices you can afford.

The store is located on Main Street, next to Century Bar.

Nunez's shop specializes in household items (including framed pictures, televisions, furniture, lamps, shelving and other decor) electronics, tools, collector items, and even sewing machines. There are also some antiques.

Nunez has operated a similar store in Schaller for a few years, expanding in to Alta. The inventory for the stores are obtained mostly at auctions; local auctions are good but he closes his shop on Tuesdays to travel to Des Moines where he attends auctions there.

With limited floor space, there is much of the inventory packed away; the merchandise on the floor will change frequently so he invites customers to come back often.

Prices begin at 50 cents and while he has prices for everything in the store, he will consider offers.

The store has been open for only a week and he is ready for customers to stop by.

Hours are Monday - 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Tuesday - closed; Wednesday-Saturday - 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sunday - closed.
