Nick Kazos, age 34, of Storm Lake, died Jan. 30, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 3, at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Sioux City. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery in Sioux City. Visitation will take place Thursday, Feb. 2, from 4-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. and a Trisagion Prayer Service at 7 p.m. all at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Sioux City. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Nick Alexander was born June 18, 1977 in Sioux City, the son of Alex and Judy (Hall) Kazos. He was baptized at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Sioux City where he was currently a member.
Growing up, Nick attended grade school in Storm Lake and graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1996 where he played on the Storm Lake High School Golf Team.
Following high school graduation, Nick attended Buena Vista University in Storm Lake where he also was a member of the Buena Vista Golf Team.
In his spare time, Nick enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He loved playing golf with family and friends. Nick was also an avid sports fan of both college and pros. He treasured his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Alex A. (Judy) Kazos of Storm Lake; brother, Chad A. Kazos of Chicago, Ill.; aunts and uncles; cousins; extended family and many friends.
Nick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alex and Viola Kazos.
