Fay (Fitzsenry) Hermanson, age 79, of Portage, Mich. and formerly of Schaller, died Jan. 30, 2012 in Kalamazoo, Mich.
Funeral Mass will be held Friday, Feb. 3, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Schaller. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will take place Thursday, Feb. 2, from 5-7 p.m. with a vigil service at 5:30 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller with the family present the entire time. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller is in charge of the arrangements.
Fay Marie Fitzsenry was born June 29, 1932 in Schaller, the daughter of Ray and Bernadine (Wolterman) Fitzsenry. Growing up, she was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith.
She attended grade school in Schaller, graduating with the class of 1949.
Fay enjoyed watching her beloved Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings, as well as any team her grandkids played on. She would talk to the kids and grandkids about anything and anytime, but not when the Twins were on television.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Rae Ann (Charles Johnson) Hermanson of Portage, Mich.; Jean Schmidt of Portage, Mich.; grandchildren: Ryan Hermanson, Nicole Johnson, Jared Johnson, Corrine Johnson, Jessica Johnson, Amber Schmidt, and Taylor Schmidt; brother, Clair (Simone) Fitzsenry of Ludlow, Mass.; sister, Pearl Wandrey of Schaller; sister-in-law, Lucille Tripp of Storm Lake; Mona Lou Fitzsenry of Schaller; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
Fay was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Bernadine Fitzsenry; brothers: James, Kenneth, Glenn, Roy, Robert, and Charles; sister, Carol Ford; brother-in-law, Kenneth Wandrey; sisters-in-law, Wilma Fitzsenry; Thelma Fitzsenry; Ila Fitzsenry; niece, Jennifer Ford; and nephew, Michael Fitzsenry.
