The Alta-Aurelia Boys Cross Country team was recently honored during a home basketball game for their stupendous year.

The team finished eighth overall in the state in 1A and were presented plaques - given to only the teams that qualify for state. The team also received the Distinguished in Academic Excellence Award given to teams that have a combined GPA of 3.25 or higher. A-A's GPA for the seven qualifiers and the two alternates was 3.91 which was second overall in the state for both boys and girls teams that qualified for state in all classes, out of 120 teams.

"I am extremely proud of these boys for their accomplishments last fall during the CC season and in the classroom," said Coach Wendell Larson. "They are a wonderful example of the student athlete here at Alta-Aurelia. Certainly they are great kids to be around. I thoroughly enjoyed sharing a great season with these boys as well as the rest of the girls and boys CC runners." Larson received the distinction of being named IATC (at large) Coach of the year. Only five coaches receive this award throughout the state in each class. Congratulations to the team and Coach Larson!
