Ethel Inez Chessman Mastin and James Buster Mastin

Inez Mastin passed away after a head injury sustained at home. Jim Mastin passed away after a brave battle with multiple myeloma.

Inez was born in Caraway, Ark. Jim was born in Corydon, IA. Jim and Inez met in Dallas, TX and were married for 53 years.

After a distinguished career in the Marine Corps which included two tours of duty serving our Country in Vietnam and receiving multiple distinguished honors and awards, Jim and his family retired to Caraway, Ark. After being honorably discharged from the Marine Corps, Jim worked for many years as an auto mechanic for Chevrolet in Marked Tree, Ark. Inez raised her two children, James Lawrence and Jessie Bryan and worked for many years at Basler Electric in Caraway, Ark. Inez had a great love for nature and education instilling these passions in her children and grandchildren.

Jim and Inez leave behind their two children James Lawrence and Jessie Bryan. They also leave behind four loving grandchildren Jared, Rachel, Devon, and David, along with daughters-in-law Kelly and Cheryl, Jim's brother Terry, sister Pat, sisters-in-law Ann and Sue and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim and Inez also leave behind very good friends in Storm Lake, and throughout Arkansas.

A grave site memorial service will be held on Friday, Nov. 25 at 10 a.m. at the City Cemetery of Caraway, Caraway, Ark. located at County Road 849 (off of Highway135).

Because of Jim and Inez's great love for animals, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Northeast Arkansas Humane Society, 6111 East Highland, P.O.Box 1042, Jonesboro, AR 72403, (870) 932-5185, neahs.org (to donate directly online).
