Funeral Mass was held Saturday, Nov. 12, at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake. Burial was in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery with full Military Rites. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Frank Thomas Smith was born March 4, 1929 in Sac County the son of Henry and Marie (Brady) Smith. Growing up, he attended school in Early where he graduated from Early Public High School in 1946.
On April 13, 1951 Frank entered the United States Army where he served his country during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on March 28, 1953.
On Feb. 1, 1958 Frank was united in marriage to Joan Feddersen at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ida Grove. Together, they were blessed with seven children: Tom, Kim, Mary, Mark, Mike, Carol, and Matt.
Frank enjoyed working and raising cattle with his sons. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Joan Smith of Storm Lake; children: Tom (Sue) Smith of Storm Lake; Kim (John) Clay of LeMars; Mary (Howard) Natzel of Eagan, Minn.; Mark (Ellen) Smith of Storm Lake; Mike (Becky) Smith of Storm Lake; Carol (Matt) Fletcher of Huxley; Matt (Cami) Smith of Nixa, Mo.; grandchildren: Abby, Kelly, and Ethan Smith; Chris, Becca, and Kelsey Clay; Alisha, Quinton, and Marissa Natzel; Nick and Alex Smith; Nick, Max, Eli, and Gracie Smith; Sam, Ian, and Joe Fletcher; Cameron and Cole Smith; brothers: Bill Smith of Storm Lake; Ed (Joyce) Smith of Arizona; and Reverend Jim Smith of Storm Lake; sisters: Eileen (Bob) Martin of Johnston; Anne (Don) Reisch of Virginia; Marilyn (Stan) Hall of Virginia; sister-in-law, Monica Smith; extended family and friends.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Marie Smith; brothers: Cecil and Joe Smith; sisters-in-law, Pat, Marvel, and Luella Smith.
