Robert (Bob) J. Huseman, age 90, of Storm Lake, formerly of Alta, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011 at the North Lake Manor of Storm Lake. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Alta with the Rev D. Duane Olson officiating. Burial will be at the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery of Storm Lake. The Nicklas D Jensen Funeral Home of Alta is in charge of arrangements.

Robert John "Bob" Huseman was born Aug. 27, 1921 in Alta, to Ernst and Edith Huseman. He graduated from Alta High School in 1939.

Bob was married to Maxine "Mickey" Hansen on Jan. 25, 1942. To this union seven children were born.The family lived and farmed south of Alta for 30 years, then moved to Escondido, Calif. In Escondido, Bob was involved in volunteer work for the city's senior center as a DMV liaison, and in the Escondido Historical Society, where he served as an officer. They were active members of the House of Prayer Lutheran Church in Escondido. The couple returned to the Storm Lake area in 2000.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Carroll Dean Huseman; a brother, Eldon "Pinky" Huseman; and sisters, Vera Carlberg and Olive "Chris" Quilliam.

Bob is survived by his wife Maxine "Mickey Huseman of Storm Lake; his children, Bill (Irene) Huseman of Bullhead City, Ariz., Tom Huseman of Branson, Mo., Orin (Kathy) Huseman of Harrisonville, Mo., Gail (Roy) Weinstein of Houston, TX, Jim (Roxanne) Huseman of Hartley, and David Huseman of Gonzales, TX; 15 grandchildren; 11great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and special family friend, Paul Huseman.
