SIOUX CITY - The Storm Lake swim team got their first win of the season Tuesday night, edging Sioux City East in dual action, 81-79.
"The girls had a great meet," said Storm Lake head coach Kari Nelson. "It was wonderful to finally have a winning meet."
Picking up first place finishes for the Tornadoes was the 200 medley relay of Alex Larson, Casey Larson, Brianna Fowler and Lindsay Hall. The same four also took first in the 200 free relay, and Hall added a first place finish in the 50 meter freestyle and the 100 meter freestyle.
Second went to Casey Larson in the 200 free, Hannah Sitzmann in the 100 fly, Fowler in the 100 back, Alex Larson in the 100 breast, the 200 free relay of Leticia Tapia, Lauren Berglund, Alex Larsen and Sitzmann, and the 400 free relay of Larson, Larson, Fowler and Anna Wulfekuhler.
Thirds went to Wulfekuhler in the 200 IM and 100 back, Halie Larson in the 50 free and 100 free, Taylor Hirschman in the 100 fly, Tori Emery in the 500 free and the 200 medley relay of Alejandra Castillo, Emery, Wulfekuhler and Hirschman.
The Tornadoes return to the water Saturday as they visit Des Moines North.
