Evangeline did substitute teaching, taught at Highview, and then taught third grade at Alta from 1964 to 1988. She also earned her B.A. degree from Buena Vista University in 1967. After retiring from teaching, she enjoyed travel to several states and to Germany. She also enjoyed flowers, bird watching, reading, genealogy, and keeping track of her family.

Those remaining to cherish her memory include; her daughter Emily Edith Mangold Goertzen and husband Gordon Wayne Goertzen of Canby, Ore.; grandson Peter Lowell Goertzen and wife Rachel Joy Kuhns Goertzen and great-grandsons Benjamin Willard and Isaiah Gordon, of Watsontown, Penn.; grandson John Samuel Goertzen of Canby, Ore.; granddaughter Johanna Emily Goertzen and fiancÚ Asael Montania of Paraguay, S.A.; and granddaughter Lydia Ruth Goertzen of Canby, Ore.; her son Grant Douglas Mangold and wife Diane Elaine Richter Mangold of Linn Grove; and grandsons Daniel Douglas Mangold of Orange City; and Steven Lowell Mangold of Iowa City; her son Gregory Lynn Mangold of Ely, Minn.; daughter-in-law Diane Sue Huff Mangold of Alta; granddaughter Melissa Lynn Mangold and fiancÚ Ryan Phillip Ryser of St. Joseph, Mo.; and granddaughter Kelsey Ann Mangold of Cedar Falls; her brother Alfred James Clark and wife Joyce Carolyn Swensen Clark and their daughters Paige Allison Clark and Candice Ashley Clark of Newbury Park, Calif.; and many other relatives and friends.
